Meet Steve and Sally
Steve and Sally Polhamus are the proud owners of Lawn Doctor of Loganville, Lilburn & Snellville, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to their new business venture. Steve’s educational background includes a degree in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University and an MBA in Management from Winthrop University. After growing up in central Ohio and enduring several harsh Michigan winters, Steve found his way to Atlanta, drawn by the city’s diverse and welcoming community. With over 20 years of experience in auto insurance claims, Steve transitioned into the world of agronomy and landscaping, discovering a true passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
Sally, originally from Fort Wright, Kentucky, holds a BS in Education from Xavier University and an MS in Educational Administration from the University of Dayton. She has always been deeply involved in sports, excelling particularly in volleyball. Sally’s career took her across the country as a college volleyball coach, eventually bringing her to Atlanta, where she served as an assistant volleyball coach at Georgia Tech and later as the head volleyball coach at Georgia State University. Currently, Sally continues to share her love for the sport as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Vibe.
The Polhamuses met in Atlanta in 2002 and have since developed a deep appreciation for the Northeast Atlanta area. They love the easy access to both the vibrant downtown and the scenic North Georgia mountains, allowing them to enjoy the best of both worlds. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains or attending events in the city, they cherish the diverse experiences that Georgia has to offer.
Their decision to start Lawn Doctor was driven by Steve’s desire for a career change that would allow him to combine his love for landscaping with a more balanced lifestyle. The most exciting aspect of their new venture is the opportunity to make a positive impact on their community by enhancing the beauty of local neighborhoods. The Polhamuses are committed to delivering high-quality lawn care services with a focus on attention to detail and efficiency, ensuring that each lawn receives the care it deserves.
In addition to their business, Steve and Sally are active members of their community. They support Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur and regularly donate to local food banks and the humane society. Their dedication to service is reflected in their business motto: “We will show up with a purpose on purpose every day,” underscoring their commitment to excellence in everything they do.
