Most of our pricing is based on the square footage of the treatment area, with the minimum being 1,000 square feet. Our computer software allows us to size and price your lawn in seconds, when you ask for a lawn care quote.
We offer a couple different payment options. Prepay-paying for the entire season upfront and save 5%. The other option is Monthly Payments. This payment plan breaks up the entire season’s total into one, low monthly rate that is automatically charged from a credit card on file. No. Lawn Doctor is a lawn care company. We grow it, you mow it. We specialize in the treatment and health of your grass, not its maintenance.
No. Our products are specifically designed for turf use only. Using them anywhere else would be considered against Massachusetts state law as it goes against the product label.
Lawn care services are usually 4-6 weeks apart and are scheduled automatically. We can notify you by text message or email the day prior to service if you need to be told in advance.
No, you do not have to be home for service. Just make sure to leave any gates unlocked and entrances to the yard accessible. Our technicians are trained to examine the property thoroughly before starting any application to familiarize themselves with boundaries and areas that require extra attention. They’ll make sure to include notes about your lawn and recommendations in the After Service Email.
No. As long as the grass isn’t too long and there isn’t debris on the lawn, you don’t have to lift a finger. The After Service Email will specify whether a product has to be watered in or not.
We recommend waiting 24 hours before resuming normal activity on the lawn. This gives our products time to settle or dry.
After fertilization, it takes a couple of days for the grass to green up, depending on the time of year. Weeds should start curling and turning brown after 7-10 days. Long term results may take longer to achieve as every lawn is different.
With programs such as Lawn Care, Yard Armour tick and mosquito control and Home Pest Barrier, we offer unlimited service calls in between regular treatments as long as you’re enrolled in the full program. From dandelions to ticks, if your pests are persistent, we will be too. Our Power Seeding guarantee, if the desired results were not achieved, is to reseed the area at no charge in the next appropriate season with the continued use of Lawn Doctor’s Lawn Care program.
In the 30+ years that we’ve been in business, no children or pets have ever been injured or fallen ill from our service. Our technicians are licensed pesticide applicators who know to follow the label instructions exactly, as directed by the EPA.
Our standard Lawn Care program consists of organic fertilizers and weed control as needed. Weed control is an herbicide but is only applied by our MDAR licensed technicians. If weeds are not a priority for you, we offer a fully organic and a hybrid lawn care program.
No. It would have to be an excessive amount of leaves for an application to be ineffective. Our technicians take a good look around before beginning the service. If they think the product cannot get through the debris, we’ll reschedule the service.
Unfortunately, no. Lawn Doctor’s weed control treatments do not target poison ivy/oak.
Lawn Care:
Your lawn should get 1-2 inches of water per week. In the spring and fall, this means less irrigation. In the summer, we recommend watering for longer, but less often to ensure a good drench.
Never shorter than 3 inches and never more than one-third of the blade at once. In growing seasons, mowing at least once a week is recommended. In the summer, longer grass creates shade for itself and can help protect itself from heat stress and dormancy.
Every lawn has moss. It’s a product of its environment and will thrive in moist, shady, acidic soil. Lime can help correct the acidity and reduce the spreading of moss throughout your lawn. In extreme cases, we recommend raking it out, applying lime and seeding the area in the most appropriate season.
In the fall because seeding in the spring or summer doesn’t give your new grass enough time to grow thick and strong to withstand the summer sun and heat. Use the spring to focus on crabgrass prevention and taking care of weeds because unfortunately, weed control can kill seed or baby grass.
Grubs are small, sub-surface beetle larva that eat the roots of grass. They’re evident on a lawn when the grass pulls up like a rug or when there are small-medium sized holes in the turf animals digging for them. Grub damage is almost irreversible so it is important to prevent them with our grub proofing service.
